JUDGMENT NIGHT by C.L. MOORE. Red Jacket Press, 2004. Facsimile of the 1952 Gnome Press first edition, in slipcase. (The original did not have a slipcase.) Red Jacket Press was David A. Kyle’s last enterprise, deluxe reprints of some of the books he published earlier in his career. It’s named after the bright red jacket he wore to conventions in his old age. AS NEW. STILL IN SHRINK-WRAP. JUDGMENT NIGHT consists of a superb 2-paart serial from ASTOUNDING in 1943, plus four novelets published as by “Lawrence O’Donnell.” After she married Henry Kuttner, most of what they did was collaborative, and they used a bewildering variety of bylines, but the “O’Donnell” stories were mostly or entirely hers, and are thus gathered here under her own name. I shouldn’t have to tell you that she was one of the best SF writers of her generation. Dustjacket by KELLY FREAS. Copies of the 1952 edition tend to go for about $125.00 these days. I am asking the original list price for this. Always willing to combine shipments on multiple orders. Please note that the foreign postage prices are a guess. If they prove too high, I will refund the difference.
