Handley Cross is one of his 'Jorrock' novels, following the vulgar though good natured sporting grocer Jorrock.With 17 hand coloured plates by John Leech. Leech was a prolific caricaturist and illustrator who worked on many of Surtees's later novels. CONDITION In a straight-grained morocco binding by Hatchards with gilt detailing depicting horse and hunting devices. Externally, very smart with some rubbing and wear to the spine. Ink signature to front blank. Original cloth binding bound to rear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with some light spotting to first and last few pages.
