Hardcover. I'm not sure on condition. I am not a book salesperson. I am selling books my mother had in her attic. There is wear rub to the leather cover which you can see in pictures. Marblized front and back cover pages. Most of the damage to this book is the cover aging. The leather is damaged. Pencil notation on first black page (numbers). First picture of Robert Burns and book picture of his birthplace are facing each other. There is a piece of tissue between, but the inks (I believe) have discolored the tissue and therefore the pictures themselves. Most of the pictures have some sort of discoloration on the tissues at least. I flipped through pages. I see illustrations w/browning or browning to cover tissue , no damage to pages, gilt on outside book edges looks excellent, binding seems very sound. It's just the cover with the age of the leather. I hoping this finds a good home with someone who knows how to care for it."Undated, ca. 1870 based on another listing I found with inscription. Handsomely bound in full grained brown leather over beveled boards lettered in gilt and decorated in deeply stamped brown, raised spine bands, gilt tooled inner dentelles, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, engraved frontis and engraved title page, other engravings throughout, 9.75" tall, 542 pages." I admit to copying that from another source. Measures 9 3/4" x 6 3/4" x 2 1/4". Weighs 3 lbs. 11 oz. prior to packaging. Any questions, ask.
