This is a superbly illustrated large volume of ‘Pierre Joseph Redoute’s Roses’ published as a 1st edition in 1959. The well bound book is complete and in very good clean condition, though being a presentation book, has a page of signatures to the opening blank page (this could be removed), please see detailed photos. The large book measures 16 inches by 12 inches. The dust jacket still has a majority of its outer cellophane covering which has kept it clean for 66 years though the edges of the jacket show signs of wear and small tears, please see detailed photos. Date and Edition: – 1955 1st ed thus. Book condition: – This is a mixed bag and a book possibly destined to be split for plates. The worst part about the book is it looks to have been chewed by a puppy. I say puppy due to the needle like impressions left, ones I’m quite familiar with!
