Lastly, Sir Arthur Gordon is most plausibly Arthur Hamilton-Gordon, 1st Baron Stanmore (1829–1912), son of the 4th Earl of Aberdeen and colonial governor of Trinidad, Mauritius, Fiji, New Zealand, and Ceylon.

This is a rarely seen volume of ‘Longmans’ Magazine’ being the collation of six, monthly issues between November 1890 and April 1891, presented in a sturdy half-leather binding.
